Hello! We’re Jeff and Jaime, a married couple from San Francisco. We are excited to become first time parents through open adoption, and are grateful for your interest in learning more about us. We understand that the decisions you are making now are extremely difficult ones, and you have our utmost respect as you move through this process and do what is best for you and your child. We deeply appreciate you taking the time to learn about us and for considering us as potential adoptive parents for your baby.

About Us

We met in 2006 while we were both living and working in Philadelphia. We quickly bonded through exploring the city together and our shared love of live music. We got married in 2010 and a few months later drove across the country to start our new life in San Francisco.

 

We feel incredibly blessed to call San Francisco home. We spend a lot of time on the beach with our dogs (we have two pugs – Otis and Daisy), hiking the beautiful trails throughout our neighborhood, and cooking together. We also love riding our bikes to our local farmer’s market and spending time working in our community garden plot.  

Our Home

We live in a spacious 2-bedroom apartment in a small building where we know all of our neighbors and their families. We especially love our home’s huge windows that fill the rooms with plenty of natural light. Our dogs love it too – they spend most of their days sitting in the bay window in our living room watching the world go by!

 

In addition to loads of sunshine, our home is filled with lots of books and music. We love to spend our evenings relaxing and listening to our extensive vinyl collection (Jaime has records from her childhood just waiting to be played and danced to with our child!).  

 

Our neighborhood is literally the safest one in the city and is located where the Pacific Ocean meets the San Francisco Bay. We are surrounded by lots of trees and grassy parks and are just four blocks from the closest beach. Most importantly, it’s a family-friendly and ethnically diverse community and some of the best schools in the city are within blocks of our front door.

 

We feel fortunate to live in such a beautiful space and neighborhood, but we would love nothing more than to share it all with a child of our own. 

What Jaime Says About Jeff

Jeff captured my heart with his great smile, quirky sense of humor and generous nature. To give you a good sense of who Jeff is, when we were first dating, I had to move a few hours away for a summer job. Even though it was far, Jeff drove up every weekend to bring me flowers and the Sunday New York Times – my favorite thing to read on the weekends. During those visits we sat on a park bench together, reading the paper and eating bagels like an old married couple. It was the best time! I feel incredibly lucky to have met someone who is happy enjoying the simple pleasures of life with me.

 

Jeff works as an executive in a very successful national parking company and is an inspiring business leader. I admire his confidence and compassion, and how he is always seeking ways to better himself and help others. For instance, when he wanted to learn how to communicate better with employees, he learned to speak fluent Spanish – a tremendous commitment to his colleagues. I learn from Jeff every day – from his calm demeanor to his clear sense of purpose and the kind way he treats others. He works hard and is a strong role model for his peers and younger members of our family.

 

When Jeff isn’t working, he loves to play sports or hop on his bike and ride around the city. He is looking forward to teaching our child how to ride a bike and hit golf balls – memories he cherishes from his childhood. Jeff is a committed and loving partner, and I know that he will be just as committed and loving with our child. There is no doubt in my mind that he is meant to be a dad, and I can’t wait to watch him bond with our son or daughter!

What Jeff Says About Jaime

I’m so fortunate to have met and married Jaime. I was immediately struck by her intelligence, caring soul, and how we both came from humble backgrounds in small towns. What I love most about Jaime is how she is always helping people, teaching kids, and making everything she interacts with better, whether through her job or just by how she interacts with others.

 

Jaime comes from a loving family full of aunts, uncles and lots of cousins from very diverse backgrounds – Brazilian, Native American, and Jewish. Jaime’s parents chose to raise her in a small town in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, and we go there often to visit her father (we sadly lost Jaime’s mother to cancer in 2011).

 

Jaime has always excelled at school, and holds two master’s degrees which she uses in her job working for a non-profit that helps children all over the country access healthy food at school. Education is extremely important to both of us, and I know that she will do her best to encourage our child to love learning and school as much as she does.

 

I’m so excited to see Jaime become a mother. She is right at home with children, and our nieces and other children love being around her. I can’t wait to see her with our child, especially playing in the garden and nurturing their love of nature. She has a natural ability to teach and shape those around her into special people, and I can’t wait to see our child flourish with her love and guidance.

 

On Being Parents

We can’t wait to be parents and to watch our child grow through the years! From cuddling with our new baby, to watching their first steps, to playing on the beach and taking trips to see grandparents in Kansas and West Virginia – all of it will be a new and very welcomed adventure.

 

We are also excited to create new traditions in our home – especially decorating the Christmas tree together and picking out Halloween costumes and trick-or-treating around the neighborhood.

 

Family and friends are incredibly important to us. We look forward to spending time as a family with those we love – and having our child loved by them. We have family members who are adopted and friends who have created families through open adoption as well. Our child will be part of a warm and caring community of friends and family who will be there to love, support, encourage, and guide them as they grow up.

 

We are both fortunate to work from home, which will allow us to be very hands-on and present for our child. Jaime plans to stay at home at least through our baby’s first year, transitioning back to work when the timing is right for all of us. 

Our Promise To You

Our home is a safe environment where a child will be cherished by attentive parents, and aunts, uncles and cousins with open hearts and lots of love. We will do everything within our power to give our child the love and support they need to grow into healthy adults, and an excellent education that helps them pursue their dreams.

As our child grows, we promise to honor our open adoption commitment. We would love nothing more than to make sure our child knows who you are and that you made the decision to allow us to become their parents because you loved them and wanted the best for their future. If you choose, we would welcome the chance to build a healthy on-going relationship with you that allows you to be a part of their lives and always know your child is safe and doing well.
