We are a married couple living in San Francisco, California. We are so excited to start a family through open adoption and would love to hear from you.

Fortunately, our work schedules will allow Mario to be a stay at home dad for the first few years. We are looking forward to raising our child surrounded by our families and particularly all our nephews and nieces and friends kids.

Mario & Michael's Story

Hi there.  Thanks for checking out our profile!

We met each other online in 2007 and had our first date near Town Hall in the heart of the city of Sydney. It felt right from the get go, so after dating for 12 months we started living together. In 2013 we purchased a 3-bedroom townhouse in Sydney with the intention of raising a family in this home. Our home is located in a nice area of Sydney not far from our family and friends.  We have been dreaming about raising a child there for some time.

In 2014 we married in Auckland, New Zealand. Once we returned to Sydney we celebrated our marriage with our families and friends. It was amazing to have our families, and their kids together to celebrate our marriage.

We have really enjoyed travelling to cities in Australia, the United States & across Europe together.  And we would love for our child to learn about the world we live in like we have on our travels.

In July 2014 Michael received news of a job opportunity in San Francisco. We have loved living here in the United States and we now view San Francisco as our second home.

We have been together since 2008 and have a lot of love to give. Over the years we have both discussed how much we want to become parents & we are so excited that we may some day be parents.

Mario's Story

Mario is an entertaining & loving person. He is also a wonderful cook.  My favorites are his lasagna & baked New York cheesecake. He is such a natural with children, they love to give him huge cuddles & play games. I am so excited to see Mario experience being a dad for the first time. 

Mario  was born to Italian parents in Sydney & raised on a farm with his younger sister Tina. In his younger years he worked in the family business as well as in a number of restaurants & retail stores. He has completed a bachelor degree in Communications.  For the past 10 years he has worked in banking & finance as a credit officer. 

Since Mario will be a stay at home parent he will be there for care & support every day. When I see Mario interact with children it is clear to me that it comes so naturally to him. I can tell he will make an amazing father.  We look forward to seeing the first time our baby crawls, takes their first steps & to watch a child experience the world around them for the first time. 

Michael's Story

Michael is a thoughtful & caring person.  He enjoys listening to music, being outdoors, & catching up with friends & family. He is passionate about sport particularly playing & watching soccer & tennis. I can't wait to see him teaching our child how to kick a ball & share his love of the outdoors.

Michael grew up near Manly in Sydney and is the youngest of four. He has completed a bachelor of Science and a Master of Information Technology at the University of Sydney.  The last five years he has worked for a large silicon valley company, first from the Sydney office, & now from the head office. 

Michael has always talked about becoming a father & sharing the experience with family and friends. He really enjoys learning and he has so much patience. I know he will be an amazing mentor to our child. I can already imagine him sitting at a desk & teaching reading and writing skills & reading bedtime stories. I know Michael will really embrace the guiding role of being a father. 

Our Home

We are currently renting a 2-bedroom apartment in a family oriented area of San Francisco called Noe Valley.  We really like living in San Francisco, however, we plan to move back home to Sydney in the next few years.  It is important to us to raise our child surrounded by our family and friends.  We want him or her to experience family events such as birthdays parties, Christmas & Easter celebrations.  We also look forward to having fun on weekends with our parents, uncles, aunties, nephews, nieces, friends, and our friend’s kids.

In Sydney we own a 2-story 3-bedroom house.  The property is located centrally to where our family & friends live.  We purchased this house with the dream of having a family, and are extremely excited through open adoption that this dream will soon become a reality.

We can imagine there will be many joys in raising a child.  Mario will love having a little assistant in the kitchen, teaching how to bake cookies & his Italian family recipes.  Michael can’t wait to get outdoors to teach soccer & tennis.  In the summertime, it will be so enjoyable having lessons in our swimming pool & going for bushwalks in the national park near our home.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read our letter & for considering us as adoptive parents for your child. We have discussed having a family for many years & are looking forward to raising a child in a loving & nurturing environment.

We have a large support network including our parents, siblings, & friends.  The child will grow up surrounded by nephews & nieces as well as the children of our close friends.  Mario will be the stay at home carer for the baby until our child reaches school age.
