Thank you for taking a few moments to get to know us, even if it’s just from a few photos and words.

As Tine was adopted as an infant girl and grew up in a loving home, adoption for us is a natural next step, as we are unable to have a biological child. We can’t wait to become parents for the first time and to welcome a little beautiful soul into our lives.

Having relocated from Denmark in Scandinavia, we now live in Tiburon, California.

Our promise to you

We greatly respect and honor the courage it takes to make the decision to place your child with another family. So it’s important to find a family that really feels right to you.

The most important promise we can make is that we will give your child our unconditional love and provide a caring home and family. We are very fortunate that Tine is able to be a stay-at-home mom as long as needed and that Lars has a very flexible work schedule, as he is self-employed.

Our story

We have been together seven years. When we had known each other for only three months we went on a three-week long backpacking trip to Vietnam and have been together ever since. It was on that trip we knew we were meant to be.

We love to travel and often talk about that we would like to travel with our child and have him or her explore the world. 

Our relationship is built on mutual respect, open communication and support for one another. We love to hang out together and often see friends on the weekend. We go kayaking or go to the movies, the theater or the ballet. A couple of times a year we arrange a hike with our friends where we make homemade pancakes in a small cabin on the top of a mountain.  

We relocated to California three years ago and Tine is the one that has made our house a home.

We are very fortunate that Tine will be able to stay home full time and take care of the baby and that

Lars has a flexible schedule at his work, as he runs his own company.

Lars on Tine

Tine is a warmhearted and passionate woman who cares deeply about her family and the people around her. As a trained social worker she is good at understanding people’s needs and challenges, and often finds herself guiding friends and family through difficult times.

Tine has always loved to dance and has been a dancer and taught dance from when she was young. She is very grounded and has a natural way of being around children and is always up for some fun. Tine enjoys hiking in the Marin Headlands and keeps up her yoga practice. Currently, Tine is teaching dance at a Catholic college.

Originally from the island of Mauritius, Tine was adopted at the age of two and has lived most of her life in Denmark. Tine grew up outside Copenhagen in a small village where she and her sister, who was also adopted, had a safe and caring upbringing. She comes from a family where family values are important. A lot of times were spent with grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.  Tine feels fortunately for being adopted by loving and caring people. As a young adult, Tine visited the island of Mauritius, wherefrom she was adopted, to learn about her origins. The trip was awesome and helped her understand where she was coming from.

I love Tine for being independent, kindhearted and outgoing. Tine is genuine, always remember important things in other people’s lives and find their well being important. She is passionate and fun to be around.

Tine shows her love for me by leaving small notes in my lunch bag and caring for me after a long day at work, and I know she will do the same for our child and give him/her lots of hugs and kisses.

Tine has always been very active and she will, as a stay-at-home mum, do lots of activities with our child to develop his/her skills intellectually, as well as physically, and in a fun and playful way. When Tine talks about being a mum she talks about spending time baking, going baby swimming and playing outside. I love Tine with all my heart, and I have no doubt that she will be able to provide a loving, nurturing, and supportive home for our child.

Tine on Lars

What you see is what you get. Lars is a very uncomplicated, patient and loving man and easy to get along with. He is calm and gentle and his brother’s kids Nicolai, Simon and Sofie love hanging out with Lars whether it’s for a bike ride, a trip to the amusement park, reading a story or just playing in the garden.

Lars is a very ambitious and interesting man. I admire his ability to set goals and work hard to achieve them, which has lead us to the United States.  He loves to be outside and has climbed mountains all over the world. In the weekends he often goes either hiking or mountain biking with friends on Mt. Tam. He also enjoys his yearly canoeing trip with his three childhood friends. On Sundays Lars usually joins me for yoga, where after we go to the farmers market to have lunch or buy fruit and vegetables for the week.

Lars is well educated and studied for his master’s degree in Boston. He will give our child the best support achieving his or her goals whether that means pursuing a degree or a non-academic dream. I admire Lars for maintaining a humble approach to life and towards people even though he has achieved much in life. He truly believes in treating all people equal and strives to leave a positive mark.

Originally from Denmark, Lars grew up on a small island in the south sea of Denmark, where he spent the first 20 years of this life, a simple but safe life I’ve been told. Later on he travelled all over the world and ended up in Copenhagen, Denmark, where I met him seven years ago.

I know that Lars will be the best dad. When he talks about becoming a dad his eyes light up and he smiles. He thinks very much about his own childhood memories and his safe upbringing and wants to give that to our child, a solid platform for meeting adult life.

Lars wants to play with our child on the beach, read stories, go baby swimming and give him or her lots of kisses and hugs. He will do whatever it takes to create a home that is safe and filled with opportunities and experiences.

Our Home & Family

Even though we have only lived in California three years we have already built a close circle of friends who share our excitement and joy to adopt. We enjoy being part of our community and spend time with our friends – a favorite is our monthly “game night”. We also take part in many of the family activities that is arranged in the town where we live, it’s a good way of meeting other families and make connections so our child will have playmates. We both grew up with a lot of friends and think it’s very important and our home will always be open for friends to come over.

Most of our family and old friends still live in Denmark, where we often visit. We also get a lot of visitors and family staying with us. It’s a lot of fun and a great way to spend quality time together.

“Home Is Where The Heart Is” - we live in a cozy home in Tiburon located in Marin County, just outside of San Francisco with lots of families and friendly neighbors.

Even though we live only a few miles from the city we are surrounded by nature and our house overlooks the Richardson Bay, the Marin Headlands and Mt. Tamalpais. We live in one of the best-rated school districts in the county, and we can see the elementary school from our back porch. We both value education and learning skills from an early age and we plan to provide the best education for our child. We recently had Lars’s oldest nephew, Nicolai, staying with us for three months. It was a lot of fun having him visit and we took him to Grand Canyon for his birthday.

We love to travel on vacation and we also visit our family in Denmark several times per year. Recently, we went to Copenhagen to celebrate Tine’s dad’s birthday.

We can only imagine how difficult it must be for you to choose the best and most suitable adoptive parents for your child. Tine, being adopted her-self, was fortunate to be placed in the good hands of her adopting parents as an infant. She can appreciate just how important it is to be placed with loving and caring people. Tine’s parents gave her the confidence to embrace being adopted, which has provided her a unique perspective to raising an adopted child herself. 

A baby placed in our care will receive lots of love from devoted patents. He/She will be surrounded with plenty of laughter, kindness, generosity, adventure and playmates in our safe Marin community in California.
