Hello from the San Francisco Bay Area. We are Bill and Lori and we are looking forward to hearing from you and getting to learn more about you. We are honored that you are reading this letter to learn more about us. We imagine that this is a difficult decision for you and we want you to know that we appreciate you and your decision to look into open adoption.

Our Home

We live in Menlo Park California, where we were both raised. We live in the house Lori grew up in. We have our own area upstairs while Lori’s parents live downstairs. Lori will work part time as a Teacher in the morning’s while her parent’s watch the baby. We go to church every Sunday and can’t wait to have our baby dedicated.  We are walking distance to Burgess Park where we can go to play, have a picnic, ride bikes and go to the library. We are also a car ride away from beautiful Half Moon Bay, San Francisco and Lake Tahoe

Our Love Story

 Even though we were both raised in Menlo Park, and went to the same places growing up like, Burgess Park and Add Jane’s swim school, and even attended the same high school, we never met until the year 2000 when Lori went through Bill’s checkout line at Safeway where he worked. We became friends and started dating.  When we married in 2012 we couldn’t wait to start a family immediately and struggled with fertility. Today, we are committed to starting our family through open adoption, especially since Lori’s father was adopted. 

Our Family

We feel very blessed that both of our families live close by. There will be grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins (very close in age) involved in our baby’s life. We all love to get together once or twice a month for family dinners, Birthday celebrations, holidays and family vacations. We can’t wait to start our own family traditions. We also have 2 cat’s Cinders and Gigi who love to play and cuddle. 

Lori Has Always Wanted to be a Mother

Lori is a ray of sunshine that never stops shining. She is cheerful and happy and has a smile that people can't help but notice. I am blessed to be the one she loves and her love like the rays of the sun keep our home happy and warm. She yearns to share her love with one more and hear the pitter patter of their little feet racing around our home. 

She has been a preschool teacher for many years and is very good with children. Her specialty is ages 2-4. She works from 8:30am to 1:30pm daily and is very excited to be a part time stay at  home mom with our new little one. We have a niece and nephew that are under 3 years old and when they come over she can't wait to hug them and squeeze them and spend time with them. She sings songs to them and often between visits they will still remember the songs and sing along with her. 

Lori loves to cook and also bake. Some days our house smells like a yummy bakery with trays of cupcakes or plates of delicious cookies. She makes dinner almost every night and has a good repertoire of meals that she is good at making and often tries out new recipes too! Lori loves Hallmark Channel movies about love and family stuggles that almost always ends happily. 

I know Lori is going to be a great mother. She is very caring and watchful and is ready to envelope our new little one in her love. Together we are looking forward to growing our family through adoption. Lori will be a great mother and can't wait for our star from heaven to come our way. 

Bill Can't Wait to be a Father

Bill is going to be a wonderful father.The first thing I noticed about him was how kind he was and he has the best sense of humor. He is always making me laugh. He is also very patient.  I can picture him teaching our child to ride a bike, and how to throw a ball. Bill loves to barbecue especially when we go to a Raiders football game. He also enjoys the A’s baseball team and can’t wait for us to go to these sporting events as a family. Bill loves taking me to see old/new movies and he leaves me little love notes around the house. He is looking forward to showering our little one with love and praise.

Our nieces and nephews love to to do the fist bump with Uncle Bill. He enjoys bringing little toys to them when we visit. 

Bill works for Electronic Arts in IT support. All of his co-workers are constantly telling me what a great help he is and they couldn’t do without him. We are so happy that he will be able to take some time off with me when the baby comes so we can have that special bonding time.  

 

 

 

 

 

Parenting Values

We have strong Christian values and will teach our child to be loving, kind, respectful, gentle and compassionate. 

We will set age appropriate boundries.

We will encourage our child to learn about their culture as well as ours and to travel and see how other people live. 

Since Lori and her mom are teacher's education is very important and Lori can't wait to help in her childs classroom like her mom used to. 

Our Family traditions

Picnic's at the beach in Half Moon Bay.

Going to church every Sunday.

Going on an adventure in the car after church.

Friday evening walks to Palo Alto or Menlo Park to try a new restraunt.

Lori's annual family vacation to Disneyland.
