Thank you so much for looking at our profile! We are Lisa and Zack, a married couple in our mid-30’s living in the beautiful Bay Area in Northern California. We respect what a difficult decision this must be for you and are very grateful you are considering us as potential adoptive parents for your baby. We are very much looking forward to starting our family through open adoption and raising a child in a loving home that fosters self-confidence, humor and happiness, with a stay-at-home dad and an extended family rich with personal connections to adoption. 

Some of our favorite things to do include going to baseball games, taking road trips with our incredible dog Oliver, going to the beach and finding new places to go walking. We are both artistic and enjoy reading, watching movies and planning our next trip! Should you choose to entrust us with your child, he or she will be raised in a loving home where values such as learning, fun and exploring new things are prioritized. We are very excited to become new parents and to share our favorite experiences with your child.

About Lisa (from Zack)

Lisa is a smart, beautiful, and humorous woman that I have the privilege to call my wife.  She is encouraging and adventurous, often inspiring us to take trips to beautiful places - usually ones with waterfalls and/or beaches. She loves swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and other water activities, and is excited to teach our child to swim at an early age so he or she can enjoy these fun water activities as well.  She is also very artistic. She is a wonderful painter and our house is decorated with her artwork. I know she is looking forward to sharing her love of arts and crafts with our child!

Lisa spent many years working with kids as an academic mentor, tutor, and with the Department of Education, and she now has a great job as an analyst in local government with great benefits and a Master’s degree in International Relations. She is quick-witted and can tell you all you’d ever need to know about politics. She is easy to get along with and has a lot of great friends and a wonderful family, who are all very supportive and excited for us to become parents.

I know Lisa would be a wonderful mother. She is one of the most supportive aunts on the planet, with 3 nieces and 2 nephews (and another one on the way). I see how attentive she is to them and how she goes out of her way to make sure she celebrates their birthdays and other special occasions. She is going to a loving mom who will make sure our child is safe and exposed to lots of fun activities.

About Zack (from Lisa)

Zack is a kind and gentle spirit, and is going to be an amazing stay-at-home dad. He is generous and thoughtful, and a very supportive husband. Zack has a lot of interests including baseball, comic books, science documentaries, and video games, and he and my mom have bonded over a shared love of sci-fi movies. He is a baseball stat genius and can recite facts and statistics on players and games from 50 years ago to the present. He’s one of the first in line to see new superhero movies, and has been known to dress our dog up as ‘Batman’ every now and then! Everyone who meets Zack loves him – he has a warm smile and a huge heart.

Zack has been wanting to be a parent for quite some time and is going to be a wonderful dad. He is very much looking forward to taking our child to his or her first baseball game and has even bought a tiny Giants baseball cap for our baby. He has been collecting Disney children’s DVDs for the past few years and is excited to watch them with our son or daughter. I can’t wait to share this exciting parenting journey with Zack!

Our Home

Our child will be raised in a house with a backyard and his or her own bedroom, near a park and an aquatic center which we hope to take advantage of a lot in the summer since Lisa is practically a fish out of water. Lisa enjoys gardening and cooking, and can’t wait to have our child get his/her hands dirty by helping us grow herbs and vegetables and learning how to cook with them. We love watching home design shows, listening to music in the house and reading together in the evening.  It’s easy for us to imagine our child snuggling with us and doing these same things that bring us comfort and simple joy.

We have the cutest puppy on the planet (and we tell him that every day!!)! Oliver is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who just turned one year old. He is a Puppy Kindergarten graduate and absolutely LOVES other people, kids, and dogs. He does a great job of defending our house against other animals that he sees on the TV, and loves hanging out with Lisa in the kitchen when she cooks (he especially loves it when she sneaks him some food). Our adorable Oliver can’t wait to be a wonderful playmate to our child!

Our Families

Most of our family lives in the greater Bay Area, so we are fortunate to get to see them frequently for holidays, long weekends, or whenever a cool movie comes out that we want to see together. During Christmas and New Year’s Eve, Lisa’s family gathers at her mom’s house in Northern California and participates in a Secret Santa gift exchange and celebrates the coming year ahead. We also go to Lisa’s mom’s house several times a year to see her mom’s theater performances in the local community theater.

Lisa comes from a big family with three brothers and two sisters, three nieces, two nephews, and another one on the way. She has an aunt and uncle who were adopted into her mother’s family, and has several adopted cousins as well. Zack has a small but close-knit family that places a tremendous value on supporting one another and spending quality time together. His family is always traveling and we love to meet up with them for dinner and hear about their trips.

Our family and friends are extremely excited to welcome our new baby into our family!

Both of us benefited from having parents who supported our hobbies and interests as we were growing up, and we are dedicated to giving the same love and support to your child.

Making sure your child has access to explore things that are of interest, and is exposed to a variety of cultural, sporting and other events is important to us. We are also very committed to making sure your child has a wide support group of family and friends who love him or her and can also share in making wonderful family memories together.
